Shigemi
A moment to unwind in the city.
Shigemi is known for chilled kake udon with clear, seafood-rich broth and smooth, springy noodles. Lunch sets pair udon with fried sea bream chikuwa and a choice of rice topped with raw egg or small dried fish.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A bowl of chilled kake at Shigemi is best approached with a sip of its clear broth, followed by a taste of the noodles. Diners have praised the broth’s clean seafood flavour, with some saying it was so good they wanted to drink every last drop. The noodles are described as chewy and pleasantly firm, with a smooth finish. It is a simple choice when you want to savour cold broth and noodles.
At lunchtime, sets are also available with a choice of hot or cold udon, fried sea bream chikuwa and rice. Choose either rice with raw egg or rice topped with small dried fish. One diner remarked on the sea bream chikuwa’s soft filling and light batter; you could enjoy it on its own first, then try it with the broth. A diner who chose the raw-egg rice reported adding dashi soy sauce and bits of tempura batter. The small-dried-fish rice is another option, making the choice of rice to go with your udon part of the pleasure.
Lunch is served from 11:00 to 14:30 minutes. In Nishitenma, you can opt for a meal centred on chilled kake udon or a more substantial lunch with tempura and rice.
